It Came!

I know I’ve mentioned before my absolute love of swaps. I won’t say I sign up for EVERY swap that comes my way, but it’s definitely 75% of them. Just recently I had a blast doing a Krampus in summer swap with some awesome people and I must say, I won with the person who sent my package.

My amazing friend Brenda called dibs on me and put together the most awesome Krampus package the world has yet to see. I could go on and on, but you know what they say about pictures, so here is my majestic Krampus present!

It began with a lovely card. (The box was also decorated with Hello Kitty Stickers!)

The box was packed to the brim with all kinds of goodies!

Among other things there’s a GORGEOUS skein of sock yarn, a tiny Totoro figure, several My Little Pony small figures, a bottle of my favorite brand of nail polish (Zoya), and a one of a kind eyeshadow specially made just for me! 😀

Of course, I wasted no time adding Totoro and the Ponies to my collection.

Now I have to deal with the difficult part, which is waiting for my recipient to receive THEIR package. I had so much fun putting something together for them, but I won’t find out until THURSDAY what they think of it all! O.o In the meantime, I’m working on my Wurm and stalking Ravelry to find the perfect pattern for my yarn!

Spring Term Ending

I know I’ve mentioned before that I’m a member of the Harry Potter Knitting/Crochet House Cup (HPKCHP) on Ravelry. It’s a friendly community who complete projects based on prompts from each of the classes mentioned in the Harry Potter universe. Today is the last day of the spring term and I’m racing to finish one last project to turn in. Fingers crossed for a Ravenclaw win this term!

I’m also getting down to the wire to finish my things for my current swap I’m participating in. I’ve knitted two items for my recipient and I still have a few things I want to make her. (Not naming what it is on the off chance she’s reading this post!) Swaps are so much fun and I love getting to know other people in a more personal way. (I promise to write a whole post on what I get when I get my package!)

So I’m going to keep knitting like the wind and do my best to finish the Ashwyn Beret tonight to turn it in and then wrap it up to go in my swap package. My wurm is slowly inching along. The sweater is currently languishing in the corner until I get some stuff caught up, and the baby blanket is getting a row here and there when I need something to do with my hands. How are your projects coming along? If you’re knitting a wurm, feel free to link to your project page so I can ooh and ahh over it, as it deserves! 🙂

What A Weekend!

It was a busy weekend here at KwK central! We typically have a routine for the weekend, and it goes something like this:

Friday night is major errand night. If we need to go to the mall/Target/shopping as a family, this is when it is.
Saturday is my “day off”. I go to my knitting group and hang out with my mom. Mr. KwK hangs with the boys and does dude stuff.
Sunday is laze around the house and do laundry day.

This weekend, however, was a bit more hectic. We got to spend the day Friday at Mr. KwK’s company picnic. I followed this up with a chance to hang out with some good friends (including my friend Nancy who was in town on vacation!) and spent the night at my mom’s.

A selfie with Nancy!

Yes, those are mustaches. Why? Why not?!

Knitting Crew Redux!

Saturday was pretty normal, until I got home and found out my computer had been a real bugbear for the mister. He tried to upgrade my system, and instead my computer decided it needed the hard drive wiped! O.o Luckily, he got it fixed and I can play WoW and hang out on Facebook again!

Sunday was spent redownloading my backed up files while my wonderful husband watched Netflix and dealt with allergies. (The poor thing) I also got the chance to spend some time with two of my best friends (we’ve been friends since junior high!) while our kids played at the park. 🙂

Of course, all this excitement means not a lot of knitting. I did manage to squeeze in a few more rounds on my sweater (only 12 inches to go until the sleeves!) and the chance to use my lifeline on my lace shawl. I’m on the second half of it, though, and I think I’ve got the hang of this!

How was your weekend? Anything exciting happen for you? (Hopefully your computers were all behaving!)
