My First Sweater

There comes a time in every knitter’s life when they decide that it is time to knit a sweater. That time came for me this weekend. So I cast on Huddle and began my foray into sweater knitting.

The first two sections flew by and I thought “Hey! This isn’t so hard!” and that was my first mistake. My second was in attempting to knit a first sweater while watching a movie. (The new Robocop, in case you were wondering. It was ok.) This means that my sweater knitting was not getting the attention it deserved. I’m sure you can guess where I’m going with this.

I screwed up. Luckily, I caught it within 2 rounds. Unluckily, that means I have 2 rounds of 184 stitches each to tink, so I can correct my mistake. That’s where I’ll be today, by the way. Sitting in the corner muttering and tinking. At least my cast on was pretty?

See? Pretty!
What sweater knitting mishaps have befallen you? How did your first sweater go? Let me know in the comments so I don’t feel so alone! 🙂

  1. I am embarrassed that I actually wore my first couple of sweaters in public. I feel even worse that I once knit you an Easter dress with no pattern and no idea how to create a pattern.
    Thanks for forgiving me…
