One of the best things about knitting baby hats is how ACCOMPLISHED you feel. I mean, I can knit a newborn hat in about 3 hours. That sounds like some sort of super power, doesn’t it? Of course, the small size is what helps matters along, but still! SO QUICK!
I’m knitting a pair of hats for a friend and decided to knit the larger of the two first. That way the second one will really and truly fly past. It’s also the perfect project to work on in between raid fights or while waiting in queue for a dungeon or scenario in WoW. (Multitasking!) The pattern is 5 inches of stockinette followed by a color change and then decreasing, so it’s also perfect for when I first wake up or just go to bed.
I really wish I’d been a knitter when my oldest was a baby, or even a more confident knitter when my youngest was a baby. I would’ve made them so much stuff. Since that wasn’t the case, I knit hats for friends’ babies as a practice for when I (if they decide they want to have them) have grandbabies.
For now, though, I have a hat that is slowly building (it currently just looks like a ring of light tan) into a boob hat! 🙂 And a shawl that’s only got 10 rows to go! After that, I’m knitting Wurm for myself. Anyone feel like a KAL (Knit ALong) with me? Let me know in the comments!
