This weekend I managed to put aside my fears and got the brim done on my wurm! The pattern calls to pick up 1 stitch at a time from the cast on edge and knit it with the live stitches on the needle. I wanted to make sure that I picked up all 100 stitches (I’m knitting the medium size) and didn’t miss any.
So I thought about it and took a second before and picked up my 100 stitches from the cast on edge. Once I had them all on me second needle, I moved one stitch from the cast on edge to my working needle, then knit the two together and repeated until the entire brim was done. Like the picture below!
I’m now cheerfully knitting away on the body! I’m not rushing, just knitting along and LOVING the gentle stripes this colorway is making. I have to say that I really do love this yarn. I think, though, that next time I knit this I’ll do as someone else noted and use a provisional cast on to make the knitting the brim together a bit easier.
How is your wurm coming along? Let me know!
