This week’s WIP is the Bristol Hat I started earlier this week. After what felt like miles of 3×3 ribbing on US1 (2.25mm) needles I’m onto the actual pattern part! So far I’m really enjoying this pattern. It’s not mindless knitting, but now that I’ve been through one entire repeat I’m getting the rhythm and not being as focused on counting each stitch. It’s starting to resemble a hat!
I’m using my Hiya Hiyas for the second time, and I have to say that I’m really liking this pair. The tips are pointy without causing me to poke myself, the cable is nice and flexible (obviously, if I’m magic looping!) but not too floppy. All in all I think this is a close second to my beloved Addis.
Hopefully I’ll have this done by the 8th and can start my second pair of Manly Mitts. No Christmas knitting is being done this year as I’ve declared it my year of selfish knitting. (I totally count knitting for others as selfish knitting if I enjoy the yarn and/or pattern.) Not sure what I’ll cast on after this but as I just got Socks a La Carte, perhaps a pair of socks is in order!
